INSTALLATION INFO
For complete details please refer to the proper sections of the AquaCal owner’s manual for your heat pump.
Electrical
- AquaCal TropiCal, AquaCal HeatWave SuperQuiet & AquaCal HeatWave SuperQuiet IceBreaker heat pumps require 220 volt service with a 50-60 amp breaker.
- AquaCal (the manufacturer) does not recommend the use of ground fault protective devices in conjunction with their heat pumps.
- Electrical installation should be by licensed electrician only.
- Always satisfy applicable codes and standards.
Proper Placement
- To operate correctly, heat pumps require large volumes of air moving over the heat collector. Allow adequate clearance between the heat pump and walls, fences, shrubs, or other objects.
- Allow five (5) feet of vertical clearance between the top of the heat pump and any roof overhang or other obstruction. This clearance prevents cold discharge air from recirculating back into the heat pump (recirculation will reduce the overall performance of the heat pump). In addition, do not place objects on top of the heat pump; doing so will block the air from exiting the heater, and will result in damage to the compressor and fan motor.
- The access panel requires removal during installation and service. Do not place plumbing, or other items, closer than 30” from the front of the heater.
